PHOTO & INFO:
Performances - Teaching Experience

There are 3 kinds of teaching juggling roles that I take on regularly. The following events can be adapted and mixed and matched to provide the right occasion for the people attending:

Taster Sessions/
Workshops
I bring enough equipment for 20 people to learn a bit of everything (diabolo, stunt stick, balls, rings etc). A 2 or 3 hour session where I demonstrate how to use the equipment, and then encourage people to just "have a shot at everything" and walk around coaching and helping people.
One-off Lessons
If you would like a group of people (or just an individual person to learn a particular skill such as ball juggling, then you can hire me to run workshops for up to 20 people at a time. At one time you could hire me to teach ball juggling, and then once everyone has had a few weeks to practice these skills, I could be brought back to teach a different item of equipment.
5 day course with show
I have been hired several times by larger companies and sports camps to run daily one hour lessons for up to 20 children. I teach them a different juggling item each day. The children work towards a show after the workshop on day 5 which parents can be invited to, and certificates awarded.

Custom made juggling doll (do you think it looks like me?!) - note the 3 clubs in one hand and 3 rings in the other!I run workshops all over Scotland throughout the year. This can vary from one-off taster sessions where people are given a brief introduction to each piece of juggling equipment and encouraged to give it a try, with little bits of coaching from myself, straight through to one or two hour daily lessons over a weekly period, taking people through the art of ball juggling, then moving on to diabolo's, spinning plates etc as the week progresses, and finishing on day 5 with a big show that parents can be invited to.

I am a Christian, and regularly take part in Mission Work throughout Scotland, where my juggling is either used to attract crowds, or as entertainment during an event. After my performances on such occasions, there are normally people who are interested in learning to juggle, and I am able to teach them some tricks there and then.

Some of my juggling equipment I bring to workshops

I am an experienced Youthworker. I do youthwork at Stirling Baptist Church where I take them for Sports every Thursday and Football every Monday.

I enjoy teaching as much as performing. The joy of watching someone's face as they master a trick that they thought was impossible, the joy of a kid holding a spinning plate... all make teaching a worthwhile experience.

To date, I have taught at least 300 people to juggle a 3 ball cascade (and countless more through the tricks section on this website!) I believe that there is more than one way to teach a trick, and also that every person is unique, and should be treated as such.

"We had a great afternoon: learned lots mixed with good fun. Despite us all being at different stages, Steve quickly assessed where we each were at and pitched at just the right level for us. He is really good at encouraging you. Can't wait to the next time! "
