About Steve

My name is Steven William Thomson (aka Steve the Juggler). I have been a professional juggler since July 2001, and have performed and ran Circus Skills Workshops at over 500 events since then.

Until November 2008, I lived in Stirling, Central Scotland. I have recently relocated to Rushden, Northamptonshire. I married a wonderful Norfolk lass called Rachel in November 2004, and we have 2 cats called Eric and Ernie who keep me company when I work from home! Rachel is an Occupational Therapist who works in an Elderly Mental Health setting.

As well as being a Professional Juggler, I run an online Juggling Store (also on this website) which stocks over 300 products.

For many years, I was part of a collective known as the Stirling Juggling Project. There were 4 Professional Jugglers (Captain Duncan Smith, George the Juggler, Ewan Colsell and myself) who met up regularly in Stirling and ran a Juggling Project. We also organised an exchange trip to Holland for some of the youngsters who got involved with our Project, and much fun was had by all. Getting the regular chance to practice with fellow professionals and learn from my fellow professionals (all of whom I would consider as World Class performers) helped me to improve my skills considerably.  The latest additions to my routines include Glow Juggling and performing more routines to Music now that I have an IPod and a Crate Amp!

In the mid 1990's, for approx 6 years I was secretary of a Juggling Charity based in Central Scotland called Jump Juggle Jest (JJJ). We would run a 2 week course each summer for local kids that would teach them Circus and Performance Skills and end with a tour round local Community Centres. A great chance to teach juggling and gain performance experience, as well as learn all about how to plan events before I became a professional Juggler!

I am a Christian, and regularly get the chance to perform my Gospel Juggling (telling people about Christianity through performing various routines which all contain a Message). I have even developed a One Hour One Man Gospel Juggling Show which gets performed at Festivals and large-scale Outreaches!
